Fashion Idol of the Week- Melmo

This week’s fashion idol is Melmo , a socialite from a small town in South Germany.  Melmo is living her life to the fullest, going out and having fun with her friends and family every opportunity she gets, meanwhile looking super slick and stylish. It’s nice to know people that are so full of life, enthusiasm and energy.

When it comes to dressing up, Mel is an expert at putting together super feminine and cute outfits, without looking like she’s spent hours dressing up.  Find out more about Melmo and her fabulous fashion at her style blog, Fashion Now.

1. Name, age, location: Melmo (Melanie), 18 years, Germany, Saarbrücken

2. When and How did you fall in love with fashion?   When I was just a little girl, I always dreamt of being pretty and wearing dresses. I chose my own clothes at the age of 7 or 8, and I always chose bright colors. But my real love for fashion began at the age of 12, 13 as I bought my first fashion magazines. I was so inspired and I thought that I wanted to look like the models.

3.   Your favorite fashion designer?   My favorite designer is Marc Jacobs, but I also admire the work of Roberto Cavalli, Jason Wu and Karl Lagerfeld.

4. What’s one thing every stylish woman should have in her closet?   Every stylish woman should have a little black dress in her closet. It’s a very important to have the basics in my opinion, however they can be combined very individually.

5. Who/What inspires your style?  I have a lot of inspiring sources, yet my greatest ones are Fashion magazines and Fashion blogs. I love reading them and I admire all the different styles. Celebrities and movies are another source of my inspirations; however the most interesting source is the street fashion. Everywhere I go I get inspired by so many different people and everyone has their own unique style. It’s very interesting to me…

6. What is you dream career?  fashion-idol-of-the-week-melmo My dream career will start next year, or so I hope. I will go to a business school and I want to study international tourism management. I hope to have a great future where I can get in contact with different countries, cultures, languages and people.

7.  What trends are you loving at the moment?  I’m totally in love with flower prints. I love big and small flower prints. I cannot get enough of them, especially because I cannot wait any longer for the spring to arrive.

8.   What are you favorite shopping destination(s)?  London. I love London. You can find so many amazing stores. Especially thrifted stores. And I love shopping in London because every person you see is a great inspiration. But Paris is also a great shopping place.

9.   Describe your style in 2 words?  Expressive & Authentic
