Fashion Idol of the Week- Nini
This week’s fashion idol is Nini. Who is Nini? Well…where do I even begin? This young lady is a model, stylist, artist and most importantly a unique individual that is all about enjoying life and having fun while she can. Her perfect outfit would be something out of the ordinary that stands out in its creative way, as well reflects Nini’s distinctive personality. La Mimi: How would you describe your style?
Nini: Structured elegance with a touch of toughness.
La Mimi: Where do you get your daily inspirations?
Nini: Other bloggers, editorials, and everything surroundings me
everyday.
La Mimi: Do you have a fashion icon?
Nini: Carine Roitfeld
La Mimi: Who is your favourite fashion designer and why?
Nini: Azzedine Alaia is my all time favorite designer. His clothes are very sculptural and understated and his designs are all about emphasizing a woman’s figure.
La Mimi: What are you into wearing right now?
Nini: Cigarette-leg pants with a simple tee and some futuristic shoes
La Mimi: Do you have a personal style quirk?
Nini: I would say that if I had to choose, my quirk would be buying, owning and loving what people call ‘outrageous’ pieces. Sometimes, I just find an item that I am drawn to and then it doesn’t matter if the piece is outrageous or not. My closet is full of basics and classic garments so that I can keep outrageous things in balance.
La Mimi: What is your favourite fashion era and why?
Nini: I love the look of the thirties and forties, especially the WW2 era. That time period is where today’s designers look for style elements. The high, pronounced shoulders that we have been seeing on every runway for the past couple of seasons and other military detailing are what I admire for the structure and masculinity. Also, the thirties and forties had amazing lounge suits.
La Mimi: What are your fall fashion must haves?
Nini: For fall I’m all about comfort and effortless chic: any long lightweight wool dresses to wear with suede lace-up boots. I have my eyes on some Haider Ackermann and Junya Watanabe pieces.
La Mimi: Please share some words of wisdom with La Mimi readers…
Nini: Everyone has good days and bad days. On those bad days if you don’t feel like dressing up it’s okay! Just be yourself. Find a comfortable outfit that reflects your own sense of style. For me,
fashion is about being who you are and a huge part of being chic is feeling comfortable not just in your clothes, but in your own skin.

It’s been a long time:)
I’ve been occasionally checking in and out though have not found the time or energy to write a comment.
Now I’m more at pace with things then ever and hopefully with some strength and focus this will continue to go uphill. So expect some more comments
