Fashion Idol of the Week- Zanita
This week’s fashion idol is multi talented Zanita. A muse, professional model, fantastic photographer and just a stunning woman hailing all the way from Sydney, Australia. She single-handedly manages to transcend fashions within the modern and retro eras with grace and beauty. I adore the fact that she isn’t afraid to turn to the past for outfit inspirations, adding her own modern signature to anything she wears. La Mimi: Name, location
My name is Zanita and I’m currently living in Sydney
La Mimi: How did you get into modeling?
Zanita: I wanted to be a model from a pretty young age, I guess like any girl it was due to my interest on fashion and beauty. I just walked into an agency when I spotted one while walking down the street, they signed me on the spot. Turns out that particular agency was really rubbish and I changed to a better one after a few months. That’s when my real career began. My advice to anyone interested in becoming a model is- do not hesitate, send in pictures to an agency and stop wondering!
La Mimi: Do you see your future in the fashion industry?
Zanita: I hope so! I don’t really have any interest in working for a designer or magazines though, if I could photograph, blog and model forever that would be absolutely ideal – I don’t have a back-up plan!
La Mimi: When do you find time to blog with your busy schedule?
Zanita: I don’t find enough time to blog! It’s even taken ages to get back to you with the answers to these questions. I wish i could post every day but I usually only get to post 2-3 times a week.
La Mimi: Describe your style?
Zanita: I’d say my style is pretty casual. Day to day I love wearing loose tailored or baggy clothing – I love any kind of basic with a twist.
La Mimi: Do you have a fashion icon?
Zanita: Chloe Sevigny or Diane Kruger.
La Mimi: Vintage vs New, what do you like more and why?
Zanita: Always vintage! It’s the most original and way better for the environment.
La Mimi: What are you into wearing right now?
Zanita: Baggy trench coats and chinos. Tartan skirts and tee shirts.
La Mimi: What’s the most the most treasured item in your wardrobe?
Zanita: My mustard trousers I bought for 1 euro in Hamburg.

Zanita: Take your vitamins, don’t be scared of taking risks and live passionately.
