Fashion Idol Of the Week- Yara
This week’s fashion idol is a beautiful blond Yara hailing all the way from Amsterdam. Yara is one of those girls who don’t need to work hard to look good. Tousled hair, natural make up and effortless outfits is her signature look. Stopping by her blog almost daily has become a routine for me, because her posts are sweet, short, and damn hot (just like her!). La Mimi: Name, Age, location
Hi! I’m Yara, a 20-year old student living in Amsterdam.
La Mimi: What’s the main goal/purpose of your blog?
Yara: I started it out of curiosity for the ‘blogosphere’ and to keep in touch with the blogs I liked. Also it’s the perfect place to make my personal style grow and to share outfits with other bloggers.
La Mimi: Do you have a personal style quirk?
Yara: Matching nail polish! Dorky, I know, but I think paying attention to your hair and make-up can really add something to your outfit.
La Mimi: What’s your favorite fashion era and why?
Yara: I must say, with the current eighties revival I feel very inspired by that era. I also love the forties because women looked so feminine and dressed up for all occasions. But eighties inspired items suit my personal style better.
La Mimi: What trends are you loving at the moment?
Yara: Giant platforms, leather; also for other items than skinny jeans, graphic prints and off course the big shoulder.
La Mimi: Who is your style icon?
Yara: There are so many bloggers that I turn to for inspiration! As for celebrities, I’m always drawn to the looks of Chloe Sevigny, Ashley Olsen, Olivia Palermo and Jen Brill.
La Mimi: What’s your favorite accessory and why?
Yara: A silver men’s watch to take away some girly-ness and a big, black leather bag with studs because everything fits inside.
La Mimi: What do you have the most of in your wardrobe? My guess is blazers…Am I right?
Yara: Hahah, that might be true! Whenever I see a gorgeous one I just have to try it on! I also constantly buy new white tee’s and tanks because I like them to be really white and fresh.
La Mimi: What pieces are you planning on putting in constant rotation for this fall ?
Yara: I’ll definitely be wearing my black blazer a lot, simply because it works with everything. Also I just got a gorgeous black dress with big sequined shoulders from Topshop that I’m planning to wear until it falls apart.

Yara: No matter how much you like a trend, always consider carefully if it suits your body type and style as well. And just have fun with fashion!
