This week’s fashion idol is one super hot stylista by the name of Vanessa, who calls herself a fashion obsessed dreamer on the haute pursuit of style nirvana.

What do I love about Vanessa’s style? Everything. No, literally everything. She is amazing at putting unconventional pieces together and somehow making them work perfectly in a unique combination. La Mimi: When and why did you decide to start blogging?

Vanessa: I started blogging on my birthday! I did it because I was looking for a creative outlet and an escape from my 9-5 desk job.

La Mimi: How did your style develop into such a unique blend of glam and rock n’ roll?

Vanessa: I’ve always loved the duality of mixing really simple pieces with outrageous ones. I think it’s accessible and at the same time very unique. I’ve gone through a lot of style phases in my life and I like mixing those experiences into every outfit I wear.

La Mimi: What do you build your daily look around?

Vanessa: I don’t really ever build it around ‘one’ thing. However, when I do, it’s always complementing something ‘out-there’ with a basic. Shape and structure is also the key.

La Mimi: What are you favourite shopping destinations?

Vanessa: Lately, I’ve been doing more second hand shopping than anything. It’s really inspiring to dig into the past. I’m devoted to Zara, H&M, TOPSHOP, Shopbop, Opening Ceremony & Oak.

La Mimi: Who is your favourite shoe designer and why?

Vanessa: Right now I’m infatuated with YSL, because they are so sexy and French.

La Mimi: What pieces will you put in constant rotation for fall?

Vanessa: Anything furry.

La Mimi: Do you ever let your friends borrow your clothes?

Vanessa: Sure! I borrow their clothes too!

La Mimi: Heels vs Flats, what do you like more and why?

Vanessa: Heels for sure. I’ve started wearing more flats lately only because I transit everywhere in the city. In an ideal world, I’d wear heels every day! I love towering over people.

I have to agree with you Mimi… I love her style too….its amazing how she combines the pieces together, it looks effortless.. My absolute favourite are the last two looks and I like the feather black skirt in the 2nd photo.
