Today’s fashion idol is a “hippie princess”- Taghrid. She is a prime example of what natural beauty, full of innocence and purity looks like. 2. When and How did you fall in love with fashion?
I’ve always been obsessed with fashion and clothing. I remember being 7 years old and dragging my mother all over Tripoli’s boutiques trying to find the perfect holiday outfit and sales people would show me all their prettiest dresses and I turned many of them down until someone showed me what I had in mind. I was only 7, Yikes!
3. Your favorite shoe designer?
Giuseppe Zanotti is hands down my favorite shoe designer. My ideal shoes have a mix of whimsy and sex appeal and I have not seen any designer that has better been able to capture those two aspects. But I really like Nicholas Kirkwood, too.
4. What’s one thing every stylish woman should have in her closet?
Plain black strapless body con dress. Not only is it great on its own, but it is a great layering piece too.
5. Who/What inspires your style?
Everything from people to cartoons & artwork to my mood can inspire me. Along with all the magazine that have accumulated in my room over the years, I have a giant folder on my computer where i save inspiring photos or things I like that I flip through when I need a little musing.
6. What is you dream career?
I can’t decide! I’m stuck between either a senior buyer for Saks, or an in house attorney for a company like Google or something. I might change my mind though, who knows!
7. What are you planning on wearing this spring?
Any staples you plan on putting in constant rotation? Lots of bows, chunky wooden platform heels, leather shorts, and silky backless dresses.
8. Your favorite fashion era?
I love all the eras for different reasons, but the grass-frolicking-vegetarian-hippie in me is leaning more towards the 70’s.
9. What are you favorite shopping destinations?
The basic: American Apparel. The cheapie: F21 & Urban Outfitters sale rack. The luxe: Nordstrom. The vintage: Aardvarksand my local goodwill. Oh and since I don’t have $50000000000, I fulfill my shoe fetish with cheap shoes from gojane.com.
10. Describe your style in 5 words ?
Girly, bright, young, with risqué footwear.

Hey Mimi,
I will definately heed your advice because this absolutely makes sense but its just so difficult! I cannot sleep early which result in me sleeping late thus waking late ensuring i’m awake for a good portion of the night and the next days morning. A vicious cycle it seems but i’ve been given some sleeping pills by my gp to help my patterns so hopefully they will hold some semblance of ‘normalcy’ soon.
Taghrid is such a pretty name for a very pretty girl. Seems refreshingly down-to-earth too! Congrats for the interview feature for Taghrid and congrats to you for managing a better sleeping pattern
