Fashion Idol of the Week- Nadine
This week’s fashion idol is beautiful Nadine. I first heard of Nadine from another fabulous lady and former fashion idol- the Seeker. She told me I should definitely have a look at Nadine’s blog and see for myself how talented and creative her style is. I was speechless when I did, as I had never seen another woman wear patterns and colors in such brave and skillful manner. Unfortunately it looks like her blog has been recently removed, so I can’t provide you with a link to it; however I’m sure most of you already know her from the blogosphere.

The Interview
1. Name, age, location.
Nadine, 23, Leipzig (Germany)
2. When and How did you fall in love with fashion?
I don’t really know. I was overweight for a really long time. I wasn’t able to wear the nice and fashionable things. I only wore loose fitting clothes. After my Abitur I started a diet and lost a lot of weight. I also got a new boyfriend who was really interested in fashion. I began to wear more figure-hugging clothes that were also more modern. I also started reading fashion magazines and books and finally I discovered blogs. I think that’s it!
3. What’s your favorite color and why ?
I can’t answer this question. I have many favourite colors. They change every day depending on my mood. I’m not able to choose one!
4. What’s one thing every stylish woman should have in her closet?
I hate such generalizations – and I don’t like the term “stylish woman”. It screams “fashion victim”. Everyone has a different style and different preferences – I can’t name one item that everyone should have. There are no rules in fashion – and it’s silly to invent some.
5. Who/What inspires your style?
I’m inspired by many things: nature, blogs, other people, magazines, movies and fabrics.
6. What is you dream career?
I wan’t to do what I’m studying right now. In fact, I have always wanted that. I study lectureship so my dream job is to become a teacher
.
7. What are you planning on wearing this spring?
I plan a lot of things in my life – but I don’t plan my way of dressing. It’s still winter and I do not yet think about spring.
8. Your favorite fashion era?
Hmmmh… the 50′s: sexy and feminine!
9. What is your favorite shopping destination ?
Japan – the women there are mostly petite – like me – which means a better fit and some designs in Japan look very extraordinary.
10. Describe your style in 5 words ?
Colorful, fresh, quirky, feminine, homemade

She is wearing a gorgeous dress. It’s pretty remarkable that she has done that herself.

Hey Mimi!
I saw that Nadine deleted her blog, it’s so sad… I don’t know why. It’S really sad.
Did you do the interview with her after or before she deleted her blog?
It’s admirable how well she got into shape! Looking at her, I can’t believe she was overweight! Now she’s got such a nice figure!
I can never answer the favourite colour question either. It’s so hard choosing one colour!
Wow, shopping destination: Japan sounds pretty cool. I have never been to Japan, although I’d love to go there someday. It must be really cool.
Nadine’s answers were so honest and unique. What a shame that she isn’t around anymore. Have you heard from her?
Oh, and referring to a comment you left on my blog some posts ago: Yes, the red coat I wore in the pictures was the one I told you about. I appreciate it that you remembered!
Kisses and Hugs
