Fashion Idol of the Week- Krystal

This week’s fashion idol is Krystal Simpson. Does the name ring a bell? That’s right. Krystal was one of the contestants of “I’m from Rolling Stone” reality show featured on MTV. She also happens to be an award winning poet , living the rock star lifestyle. Attending fashion shows and mingling with celebrities is a typical weekend for Krystal.

However, we are not here to talk about the show or her adventurous lifestyle, rather Krystal’s unique, unpredictable and fabulous sense of style. Her outfits consist of timeless pieces and I am sure you will all agree that there is a definite vintage aura around her style. 3. Your favorite decade in fashion?

Hands-down, the 1970′s. Everything in my life is reflective of the 70′s.

4. Where do you draw your inspirations?

I’m inspired by the different people that come into my life, I really love people. I travel a lot for work, and along the way I get to meet so many amazing talents. Life in general is quite an inspiration when you realize that you can create anything for yourself. That’s quantum mechanics working for you!

5. Favorite designers?

I love vintage YSL, Halston, Gucci, Sophomore, Alexander Wang, DVF, Willow, Sass and Bide…

6. Favorite shopping destination?

Topshop, Barney’s, H&M, Zara, Forever 21, Savers…those are great go-to spots.

7. What current trend are you loving the most?

I love that H&M and Forever 21 have amazing high wasted trousers, I love a higher wasted pant for the youth, it is such a juxtaposition–could you imagine wearing pleated high wasted slacks to high school a few years back, jesus, they would have killed me.

8. The style you most dislike?

Anything that involves insecurity.

9. Favorite shoe designer?

I love Louboutin, he is always a go to guy for shoes. And of course Gucci, they make great Studio 54 platforms. Vivienne Westwood’s pirate boots are as good, if not better than you think for a flat boot. I wear Minnetonka moccasins when I’m not in proper shoes.

10. Three words to describe your overall sense of style?

Performance (the film starring Anita Pallenberg, Mick Jagger, and James Fox.)
