Fashion Idol of the Week- E of Disctrict of Chic
From the Place to be- Washington DC, I present to you E- our fashion idol of the week. E possesses a very rare and exceptional quality when it comes to dressing- she is a style chameleon. And you know what? It works for her! No matter what she wears, she looks absolutely fantastic and the readers of her blog never get bored, because everyday E pulls you in a different style direction- one day she can be preppy, the next funky, edgy or even punky. With E, you just never know what you are going to get and that’s exactly what keeps her blog -fresh and exciting as well as, makes her so unique and valuable to the blogging world. La Mimi: How did you first become interested in fashion?
E: I’m a very visual person, so I think I’ve always been interested in fashion in some way or another. I lived in Paris for a year, which transformed my interest into more of an obsession.
La Mimi: What’s the inspiration behind your blog “District of Chic”?
E: I would say it’s mostly reading other fashion blogs. It has become an art project for me to work on for every post. It inspires me to be more creative with the clothes I already have, which is awfully satisfying.
La Mimi: What do you build your daily look around?
E: A lot of times I get inspiration from something I’ve seen on the internet or a person I’ve seen on the street, but it’s very rare that the idea I have in my head pans out on the first try. My outfits usually go through multiple evolutions before they’re “finished.”
La Mimi: What’s your favourite fashion magazine and why?
E: That’s tough between all the magazine editorials I follow on various blogs and the random ones that I pick up here and there. The ones I actually subscribe to are Elle and WWD, but Dazed and Confused’s editorials are so stunning and creative.
La Mimi: What do you usually splurge on?
E: Another toughie, because it can be anything. Probably shoes more often than not.
La Mimi: What are you into wearing these days?
E: Lots of things! I have an H&M sweater vest I’ve been wearing a lot lately and these lace-up Born boots that are incredibly comfortable.
La Mimi: What’s the most expensive clothing/accessory you ever purchased?
E: My Givenchy cowboy open-toe zipper booties. Definitely don’t regret it either.
La Mimi: Where do you see yourself in five years?
E: Hopefully as a home owner! Other than that, just happy 
.
La Mimi: Please share some words of wisdom with La Mimi readers…
E: I guess I would say never to feel confined to one certain “look” just because of how other people perceive you. I can’t tell you how many times I hear people say “oh I love that, but I could never wear it…” It’s very liberating to step out of you safe zone and try out more adventurous styles.
