Fashion Idol of the Week- Chic Muse
This week’s fashion idol is a striking brunette- Denni. Her dark lengthy hair and super long legs are only some of the features that make Denni stand out of the crowd. For this chic muse everyday is an editorial shoot, so she obviously styles herself accordingly. Twenty year old Denni is the girl to keep your eye on. From modelling for American Apparel to winning a styling contest in Nylon magazine- this girl is just unstoppable! Need a muse in your life? La Mimi: Name, age, location
Denni, 20, Planet Earth
La Mimi: You look very exotic. May I ask what’s your background?
Denni: I like the word exotic! I am actually mixed. On one side my mother has really pale skin, and the blackest hair I’ve ever seen- she has Spanish background. On the other hand: my dad is really tall ( hence I’m taller than my mom), and I believe he is of Lebanese background, but quite honestly I’m not even sure. So, I guess that´s the reason: a combination of mom and dad made me as I am.
La Mimi: What’s the purpose behind your blog The Chic Muse?
Denni: The reason I started the blog is because I felt a bit lonely in the way I was obsessed about everything that spins around fashion and style. So, I guess my blog has been a way to share my obsession and connect with like minded people that actually care and understand me. I really enjoy being part of the blogging world.
La Mimi: I just LOVE your hair. It’s so beautiful and luxurious. Are you attached to it? Would you say your hair is part of your style and would you ever cut it?
Denni: Thank you! Back in high school, I cut my hair `till shoulder level, I was terrified but of course it grew back, thank God! There are times when I feel like cutting it again (and then I’m thinking- no way!). However, it is a fact that I consider it as part of my way of being.
La Mimi: What makes you buy something?
Denni: For me it´s all about the little details. Every time I go shopping I try to find something that defines me and my style. Once in a while, I get inspired by movies like Confessions of a Shopaholic or Sex and The City.
And just like that, I see something and then quickly imagine it on me (and I always think “this is what I need”), and sometimes I spend my whole week’s budget to get that desired item. But mostly I try to buy basics that are versatile and look good on me.
La Mimi: Your next must have purchase?
Denni: A bird ring!
A grey Alexander Wang-like coat- soft and beautiful! A cream colored fur vest- tres chic!
Marc Jacobs shoes ( very Carine Roitfeld style, I adore her!). As well as, see-through tank tops from American Apparel.
La Mimi : What do you feel the best wearing?
Denni: Bodysuits, short dresses a la balmain , mini shorts, white shirts, black jeans, heels, tights. I love black and white combo and anything that makes me feel comfortable and chic.
La Mimi: What’s your personal style quirk?
Denni : I like to wear distinctive clothes that will make people remember.
La Mimi: Flats or heels? What do you like more and why?
Denni: Heels, of course! I have to say sometimes it is definitely easier to go with flats, also less pain for the feet. But when I see high heels- beautiful heels, my heart just stops.
La Mimi: And now a bit of a philosophical question: What has life taught you in 20 years. Please share…
As the time goes by I have learnt that no matter how different you look or what other people might say about your look or image, the only person you have to make happy when you look in the mirror is yourself.
This girl makes me smile! She’s original and quirky and extremely worthy of this feature.

I love her blog, but terribly disappointed when Mexican girls claim themselves as “Spanish” rather than what they really are. Sure everyone from Mexico could technically claim Spanish blood, but geeez, have some pride in your culture, not for the one who came and colonized your country.
How tall ia she in real life I can’t find it and I didn’t know that she was half mexican she specifically said that she is half spanish LOL
