Fashion Idol of the Week- Aimee

This week’s fashion idol is Aimee. Please don’t mispronounce her name as Amy because the proper way to say it is Ah-Meeh. It’s my pet peeve when people mispronounce names, as I believe it shows lack of manners and respect, so I had to mention it.

Now, let’s get back to Aimee from sunny California. I bet you Aimee gets quite a few heads turning when she’s out on the streets of San Francisco dressed in such an elegant, Parisian way. All those fabulous outfits are documented and posted on her lovely blog- Song of Style, in addition to other fun personal stories and style musings.

When Aimee is not writing on her blog, she is designing her own gorgeous feather headbands which you can purchase at her Etsy store.

1. Name, age, location.
Aimee, 22, back and forth between San Francisco and Los Angeles, CA

2. What do you do for a living?
I recently got hired from temporary to part-time at the San Francisco Design Center and I’ll soon be writing fashion related articles on a shopping website.

3. Your favorite decade in fashion?
I think 1950s was one of the most glamorous but also edgy decades. From leather jackets to flirty pencil skirts, it’s truly an inspirational decade.

4. Where do you draw your inspirations?
From stylish, unique people who aren’t afraid to try risks that I see on the streets, magazines, and the web.

5. Favorite designers?
It always changes but I currently love everything that Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Kate and Laura Mulleavy(Rodarte) and Christophe Decarnine touch.

6. Favorite shopping destination?
Window Shopping wise, definitely Barney’s New York, but thinking about my wallet, it would be H&M and Forever 21. I’ve also started thrift shopping and my wallet is as happy as I am. haha

7. What current trend are you loving the most?
The Grunge look combined with feminine dresses!

8. The style you most dislike?
Pink Juicy Couture tracksuits with Uggs and a Coach bag. Don’t get me wrong, separately it’s not that bad, but altogether? No, Thank You.

9. Favorite shoe designer?
I love everything from Givenchy, Chloe, and YSL. Too bad I’m not rich yet. I currently am just satisfied with my Steve Maddens.
10. Three words to describe your overall sense of style?
I don’t think I have a specific style but if I had to choose, I’d say feminine, grunge, and random =)
