Fashion Idol of the Week- Delmy
This week’s fashion idol is Delmy- a true eye candy, style savvy and a makeup pro! I regularly visit her blog to get a scoop on the latest makeup and hair tips, as well get inspired by her bold style choices. Delmy is everything you’d want in a friend- fun, friendly, honest, did I mention fun? Yes, every one of her blog posts is infused with light humour and wit. Loves it. La Mimi: Name , age , location
Delmy Rivera, 26, Bronx, NY
La Mimi: What prompted you to start your blog and what motivates you to post regularly?
Delmy: I started out on Chictopia.com and from then on I got inspired to start my own blog.
I have a couple of my favorite bloggers and I hate when they post every four days so I try to
post as often as possible. 
La Mimi: What’s your favourite place to search for inspirations?
Delmy: Usually fashion magazines, but I do also like Alexa Chung, Ashley Olsen and Rihanna.
As you can see my style is all over the place.
La Mimi: Since you are a makeup artist, could you please share your most favourite make up trick?
Delmy: For all make up artist its not a trick, but I think all ladies should know that nude translucent powder
works wonders for dark areas under your eyes. Just apply it with a makeup sponge under your eyes
and let it set while you apply mascara, eyeliner or eyeshadow. You’ll look like a doll!
La Mimi: What did you wear when you were in high school?
Delmy: In high school I wore lots of sneakers with the big door knocker earrings.
I wasn’t too confident with my body and my height. After I graduated is when I
started wearing my moms skinny jeans and wearing her shoes…lol
La Mimi: Vintage vs New? What do you like more and why?
Delmy: I love Vintage, but I never have the patience to search through racks of clothing.
Also the vintage shops I know of in NYC have long lines that I simply cannot tolerate. The vintage
items I own are from my sisters or my mom.
Most of my shopping is done online. I still get to find unique pieces. So far I haven’t bumped
into my twin.
La Mimi: I will be visiting New York very soon, could you share some of your fave shopping destinations in NYC?
Delmy: Definitely go to the Eye Candy Store. Its on 329 Lafayette street. They have cute accessories. Topshop is
also one of my faves. Soho is the place. You’ll find lots of small shops with unique and playful items
that you’ll fall in love with.
La Mimi: What are your favourite stylish movies?
Delmy: It’s interesting, but actually yesterday I got inspired by Dirty Dancing movie, so I made a post about it on my blog. I love all Audrey and Katherine Hepburn movies. I’m thinking I might be Audrey Hepburn in My fair lady. I know this is not a movie, but I love Janet’s style in Three’s Company.
La Mimi: What do you feel best wearing?
Delmy: White loose light weight sheer tee, skinny jeans and some sky high pumps.
