An exhilarating blog about the world of fashion, art, music and much more. If you ever head to Atlanta then make sure you call up these fierce fashionistas. They will let you in on all the local secret shopping destinations. Enjoy their interview and don’t forget to leave a comment.

1. Name, age, location
Catherine – 25, Atlanta, GA
Lauren – 25, Atlanta, GA
2. What got you hooked on fashion?
Catherine – I kind of eased myself into fashion with magazines. It started in middle school when Lauren brought home an issue of In Style. Then I branched out from there: Teen Vogue, Elle, Bazaar, Lucky, Vogue, British Vogue, W, WWD. I have a very unhealthy addiction to fashion magazines.
Lauren- It might have been InStyle, but I think before that it was Audrey Hepburn movies: A Roman Holiday, Funny Face, Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I wanted to be very classic and elegant. I think that was right before I hit high school, when everyone else was shopping at Abercrombie, I was trying to wear ballet flats and black pants. I’m not sure I pulled it off successfully, but at the time I didn’t care.
3. Would you say you ladies have similar style? If not, what are the differences?
Catherine – Lauren and I love the same type of styles, but ever since we started working in different fields we’ve started to dress differently . I work for a local government, so when I go shopping I’m attracted to items I can wear in a professional setting, like silk shirts, skinny trousers and vests. I like to raid Lauren’s closet on the weekends.
Lauren- Cath has always been more about fit and cut, which I admire. I’m a bit more of a magpie: anything shiny or eye-catching – especially detailing (feathers, laces, grommets, etc.).

4. Do you ever fight over clothes?
Catherine – We don’t fight too often. The biggest clothing fight I can remember was a few years ago at a Miss Selfridges in Edinburgh. We both spotted a bulky black sweater on the sales rack at the same time. We weren’t living together so we started arguing over who would buy it. I think at the time we were both annoyed with ourselves for making a big deal out of nothing.
Lauren- We’ve learned to buy two of everything we both like, because (and i think this is a twin thing) we always want to wear that one thing on the same day. I’ll come out of my closet with a necklace on, and Cath is like, “I was going to ask to wear that.” It happens pretty consistently if we’re sharing an item.
5. What’s one thing every stylish woman should have in her closet?
Catherine – A white button-up shirt. I love menswear-inspired pieces on women. A white cotton shirt is a pain in the ass to iron, but it totally transforms an outfit into a pulled-together, elegant look.
Lauren- That one outfit that makes you feel gooood: good sexy, good comfortable, good pretty. That could be a little black dress or a pair of pants that stretch as you eat dessert (I’m a sweet tooth… I love leggings). I’m not kidding. I’ve felt great in a gown and great wearing old jeans and boots.
6. Who/What inspires your style?
Catherine – So many things! Fashion and style bloggers, photographers, fashion magazine editorials, industrial design, Audrey and Katherine Hepburn, streetwear photos and anyone who can look fantastic without spending a lot of money.
Lauren- Inspiration used to come from our glossy fashion mags (Vogue, Elle, Bazaar), but more often nowadays, it’s fellow fashion bloggers. There are so many creative men and women out there who don’t follow trends, but set the trends. I love blogging for that reason: people sharing their creativity… for free! It’s such a generous medium!
7. What are you dream careers?
Catherine – Someday I would like to become a dancer/urban planner/musician/stylist or at least I would like to have a job that would give me enough time to explore those different fields. I would add fashion designer, but I hate sewing.
Lauren- Art Director/ Graphic Designer at my own creative agency, while traveling the world and eating really good food.
8. What are you planning on wearing this spring? Any staples you plan on putting in constant rotation?
Catherine – I want to play around with layering different shades of beige for the spring. I’d wear something like an off-white tank with an asymmetrical beige vest, khakis rolled up above the ankle with nude colored platform sandals. To keep things from looking too bland I’d add bright pink or neon belt.
Lauren- Like Cath, I’m excited about mixing neutrals (kakhi and light gray) with neon. Also, I’m not over the high-waisted trend. It helps us petite ladies look like we have longer legs, especially when paired with 5 inch heels.
9. Vintage vs New? What do you prefer and why?
Catherine – This is a tough one. I guess if I was really pressed to choose I would go for new. I like very structured and form-fitting clothes, which is usually harder to find in vintage items that I can afford.
Lauren- New. The vintage I can afford usually swallows up my petite frame- and I can look costume-y. I can wear a few pieces at a time.
10. What are you favorite shopping destinations?

Catherine – Lauren and I both have the same philosophy when it comes to shopping.
We buy wardrobe staples at Target, H&M, Forever21 and American Apparel, but we really enjoy shopping at local boutiques for more unique items. I love getting to know the local boutique owners around town and seeing what styles they choose each season. If you’re ever in the Atlanta area contact us! We love recommending our favorite places to shop.
Lauren- I do love boutique shopping around Atlanta. I can’t buy everything at independent stores, but shopping local is always rewarding. Sometimes knowing the designer or at least the shop owners gives more meaning to a piece. And like Cath I’m a sucker for H&M, Urban Outfitters and Forever21.
