Trend Alert: Military Inspired

One of the key trends for Spring 2010 is military inspired clothing. Anything goes from khaki pants to military jackets to cargo pants, and camouflage print dresses. Designers like Alexander Wang, Christophe Decarnin, Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano were clearly inspired by army attire when designing their spring/summer 10 collections. The trend will hit retail stores later this spring and all through summer and fall.

How do you incorporate this tough looks in your daily wear? Easy! It’s all about mixing and matching. No need to be extreme and create a Halloween army costume, but instead infuse slight hints of that in your outfits. For example: wear your cargo pants for a night look with sky high heels, simple t-shirt and a statement necklace or opt for a military jacket with a full feminine skirt – see Marc Jacobs and John Galliano below.

Will you be marching down the street this spring?

Oh yes, I’m very found of it (not much the camouflage print, but the colours and details).

I might incorpotate some aspects in my outfits for summer, since I’ll be in a different kind of style for some time.

Hope all is great with you, beautiful.

    Luv

The Military look is great. Very outdoorsy and a classic style. Plus, olive is one of my favorite colors.
