Trend Alert: Crinkled Clothes

Trend Alert: Crinkled Clothes

I was never a big fan of rumpled fabric, because somehow no matter how hard I tried to feel comfortable in them, the classic in me wanted to grab those crumpled clothes and iron them to perfection.
However, this year there is a new twist to the crinkled clothes…the pieces are more sophisticated and elegant. I guess, these days it’s becoming chic to look like a mess!  And you know what? The trend is starting to grow on me. I might even give it a try.
How did the trend originate? On the runways of influential designers like Prada, Burberry and Bottega Veneta.

I’ve always loved those broomstick skirts. But hard to accept them on a shirt.

I love the wrinkle trend, it really suits lazy people like me who loathe the sight of an iron :~)

Don’t think I’ll try this trend, but I do like the scarf :)

I agree! Generally I don’t like the trend that much but I think it works very well for accessories like scarves, rather than tops or jackets.

I think it really depends on the piece itself… While i’m totally loving the gold Prada dress,I don’t think i’d feel comfortable in the Keneth Cole ensemble… So to me, i’d be judging it on a piece by piece basis…=)

I love to iron everything but as the years go by I get a bit more relaxed. I love some of the photos you posted, especially the neutral-nude toned ones which still look chic even while being uber-wrinkled! :)
Hope you had a great weekend doll.

Love it..! Probably not for every piece but most of the images you are showing above work nicely. Probably not for a preggo, because then people might think u look fat and wrinkled! I kid with u.

I hate ironing and always have! I wish everything was wrinkled or crinkled!

I have a Versace piece I just adore. A friend’s housekeeper didn’t know the trend and ironed his shirts for hours until crisp and wrinkle free. : ) he was speechless….

Love the scarf, Mimi. Your pieces are always as wonderful as your trendy ideas ;) I do have a crinkles outfit myself which I never wore. Now that I see how you put it all together, I would definitely give it a shot ;) Thanks for isnpiring me again, my fashionista =)

I think darling this trend like most tricky ones is all about how it is worn and in what fabrics. i actually like the look of crumpled/wrinkled pieces, it gives it this love lorn-well worn-slept in feel(kind of like cinderella sleeping in her ball dress and waking up and hitting 5th avenue the next morning for brunch and diamonds in the same dress :) . A girl can dream :o )
I know in real life it is not so practical, but i would wear all of that prada collection but just not to a 9-5 regular office job lest they think I forgot to iron and came in all creased and messy :)
    big kiss,
    Marian.

I have some pieces that look better rumpled and I love how easy it is to care for them (wash, dry and roll up into a tiny ball), but I’m also classic-leaning and I’m sure I’m going to end up feeling like I just rolled out of bed if I put on a rumpled suit. :)
