Sequin- Absolute Winter Must Have!

What comes to your mind when you think of winter dressing ? Well for me, winter is all about adding happy touches to my outfits, whether it is a red lipstick, shiny metallic shoes or even a sequin skirt. With such an enormous popularity of sequin items this holiday season, I felt I owed to dedicate at least one post to the sparkly sequin trend. If you have recently made an investment into a sequin item, have no regrets! Based on all the runway reports, sequin trend will stay with us for as long as summer 2009.

Honestly though, I think sequin can never really go out of style. The only difference this time around is that designers are making it easier to integrate sequin garments in your daily looks. For example: You will not look overdone for an office/work with a red turtleneck, black sequin skirt, black tights and ankle booties or pumps. Then you can wear the same skirt with a white ruffled tank and pumps for a night on the town. Sequin items are so inspirational when put together with other plain items found in your closet . What do you guys think of a sequin trend? Do you love it or loathe it?

On its own I’d say it’s a bit too flashy for my taste. But the way you’ve styled it and toned it down with the right accessories I could definitely feel comfortable wearing that! Love your outfit and very cute pix! =)

To be honest I think I have no sequin pieces… I always have been a bit afraid of them (me, imagine )because they were supposed to be only for night. But I’m getting interested and I would like to have at least one piece, but don’t know if I would find it…

Hi The Seeker!- Thank you, thank you. I’m blushing from all the comments. hehe I think you’d look great with something that has sequin details…There are so many garments like that. For example: A top with some sequin details under a blazer would look perfect for any occasion. Give it a shot !
