SATC2 fashion trend- Maxi Dress

I have finally got a chance to watch Sex and the City 2 yesterday. It was just fabulous! Beautiful, very well written and witty, of course!

I can’t say I liked it more than the first movie though. I think it was equally good and funny. Most of the fashion on the other hand was quite extravagant and costumy , but that’s not too surprising with Patricia Field’s styling the movie.

One of my favourite fashion trends in this movie (except for harem pants of course, lol I’m not kidding! They are starting to grow on me ) are the maxi dresses. Did you ladies notice how many different maxi dresses Carrie wore throughout the movie? It’s unbelievable! So, for all of you gals out there that think that maxis are only for tall women , think again. Here is a proof that even 5’4 Sarah Jessica Parker can pull off a maxi dress when don the right way and look fantastic.

I also love maxi dresses for the summer, because they are so very airy and comfortable… The only issue with maxi dresses is that once you wear a statement piece like that, people will always remember it. So, the key would be to dress it up differently each time you wear it. Create a bohemian look by wearing it with flats and floppy hat,big hoop earrings; next time for a dinner event , glam it up with layers of gold necklaces , fancy hair updo and chandelier earrings. For this look you might want to wear wedges or heels.

Oh my god i cant even begin to describe how much i loved the fashion, the two and a half hours of film felt like 2 minutes, i was trying to remember all the outfits lol My favourite scene was the girls in the desert and then that gorgeous hunk driving past them. Samantha’s face was absolutely priceless LOL and that guy is hot hot hot! All in all, LOVED the movie and the girls!

Ack I still haven’t had time to see this movie! Sometime this week maybe? It’s downright blasphemous for a fashion blogger to admit, I know.

As for maxi dresses, I know a petite girl with a black maxi dress who always manages to wear it differently. It’s like she took all the styling rules for how to make a little black dress more versatile, and just applied them to a longer dress. Switching up the jewelry, adding a filmy scarf, changing the shoes…the options are endless. Great suggestions here for how to dress the maxi up or down, La Mimi!
