Hippie Headbands- Hot or Not?

At first we saw hippie headband trend emerge among celebrities, models on the runway and the fashion forward crowd. Lately though this hippie inspired trend has been spreading like a plague. Correct me if I’m wrong but the hippie headband is not the most flattering accessory to be worn. Some celebs such as Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan or Mischa Barton do look sort of cute wearing them; however that doesn’t mean that the look can work for every fashion oriented person.

Can this 1960’s throwback be the next best thing?

Do you think it is a fashion DO or a fashion DON’T?

Here are some celebrity trendsetters who started this new glamour hippie movement.

Umm, yeah! Definitely not for me! I don’t like to bash or judge any certain trends or styles…But I think this can only work for some people, and will look completely off on others. I’ve never tried it on myself, but don’t think I could pull it off. But then again, I’ll try anything once…And that last photo of the Olset twin, is absolutely HILARIOUS!! What in the world?! LMAO… =)

Ehhh, I was alright with the trend until Miley Cyrus started wearing one. I know she’s just a kid, so I blame her parents.

I think this looks cute on celebs, but I don’t know how flattering it would be on us “normal” gals. this trend I will have to pass on…

I think its reserved for California girls only! :) but Where did you find that picture of Mary Kate?

She looks like Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Turtles…

I think they are cute if the rest of your look is bohemian (Mischa, Nicole). This was trendy last spring…I thought it would be finished by now.

  • Kelly said:

I think there pretty cute but not everyone can pull it off.
To me i think the trend is pretty nice but i wouldn’ wear it,
    not really my taste.

This look is ROCKIN’ in Melbourne, Australia & let me tell you we pull it off mighty fine here. ;) Don’t mean to sound up myself.

Well, I agree the huge ones are ridiculous, but just a plain thin one like Vanessas, are really cool. But for us ‘normal’ girls, i suggest wearingt them underneath your hair and accross the top or your forehead. I wear mine almost everywhere.

I’m an Australian girl and believe that most Australian girls really do pull it off I think any girls that live near the beach or have the bohemian style really do pull it off well.

I say HOT! Not everygirl can pull it of well. Honestly I think you need to have a pretty face, pretty hair, and a hippie chic outfit(jeans flowy shirt and a vest). Another way it can be worn is with a flowy dress- Cleopatra egyptian style dress(Cleopatra pulled of that look very well)except her headband was made of gold. Or roman princess style dress.
