Fingerless Gloves-Yay or Nay?

As funny and pretentious as they might seem, I’ve always had a soft spot for fingerless gloves. There is something so bold, daring, yet chic about them. Both practical and pretty, they allow you to have full mobility of your fingers ( when typing text messages and tweeting away on your Iphone, Blackberry, etc) .

I’ve got a pair of fabulous fingerless gloves as a gift for Christmas this year. They are a knit pair of gloves that I wear for everyday or when going ice skating. I have another pair of faux leather fingerless gloves that I use when styling shoots, but quite honestly I’ve never worn it out in public. It’s a bit too much for my liking.

How about you guys? Do you have a pair of fingerless gloves?

I like the non-kinky kinds like knit mittens. Karl’s are too extreme for me but I like those pink ones you point out.

I like them because they let me maintain dexterity and it’s hard to find ready-made gloves that fit smaller hands (and shorter fingers)–fingerless gloves are more likely to fit. However, when the weather gets REALLY cold they’re not as great as traditional gloves.

I like the ones that have the flap to cover your fingers as well. I’ve worn mittens like that for the last two winters, but I left my Calvin Klein ones on the bus a couple nights ago and I am heartbroken : (
