Trend Alert- Embellishments
Oh, ever since I fell in love with Balmain’s Spring/Summer 09 collection, embellishments have been on my mind. I have quite a few embellished tops clutches and shoes in my wardrobe that I have purchased in the past, however this year instead of buying something new, I’m thinking of giving a second life to some of my old clothes AKA add some pyramid studs on a blazer, sew up a few sequins on an old tank, etc.
Embellishments are a great way to light up any garment or accessory, adding depth, color and creativity.
Although you might have heard otherwise, embellishments can definitely be worn for a day look, as long as it’s not overdone. For example: dress down your sequin top under an oversized vest, cardigan or a blazer. At night though, you can let it all sparkle!
Do you like embellished clothing and accessories? Have you tried any DIY?

I totally fell in love the Balmain jacket!

I can’t believe how expensive that Balmain jacket is…I mean, I love it, but the price is just redicilous!
Hi there-a fab post my dear and I like your tips on how to wear throughout the day to night too!!
I’d love to buy Robins’ jeans to my girlfriend in case she’ll lose a few pounds! Altogether – fantastic stuff, but so expensive!
I can buy a small car for that money!
If I had a BeDazzler I’d love to DIY this look!
Oh yes.that was a great idea.To add some studs on blazers, specially on denim jackets..;D
They will surely look great with those things.Just like recycling old things to make them look new.;D
Thanks for sharing it.
I love your ideas about giving second life to older things. It’s definitely a great way to express your creativity and help the environment by recycling! Way to go
Oh, and I love the tips on how to dress down the embellished pieces for a day look… Thank you! =)
Hey,like that suggestion on how to make old things a new one.;D
It really saves a lot of money..;D
I love that dress!
I haven’t done any DIY yet, but who knows… maybe I will try someday soon.
Have a fab weekend Mimi!
Hey Mimi!
Another relevant piece! Personally I’m quite fond of embellishments, they seem to give an extra sparkle (pun intended) to outfits. Undrabs them as it were
As for DIY’s lol the only one I’ve done myself is adding studs to my beanie. What can I say? My scope for DIYing is very very limited. It took me all of a min to do and even I thought it was just too much haha.
Perhaps its just the idea of following the trends that made the job so unappealing but GEEEEEE it looked so so pretty afterwards
*cheesy grin* haha
Eeli xx
those studded shorts are excellent… DIY all the way tho ;_D
