Trend Alert- Embellishments

Oh, ever since I fell in love with Balmain’s Spring/Summer 09 collection, embellishments have been on my mind. I have quite a few embellished tops clutches and shoes in my wardrobe that I have purchased in the past, however this year instead of buying something new, I’m thinking of giving a second life to some of my old clothes AKA add some pyramid studs on a blazer, sew up a few sequins on an old tank, etc.
Embellishments are a great way to light up any garment or accessory, adding depth, color and creativity.
Although you might have heard otherwise, embellishments can definitely be worn for a day look, as long as it’s not overdone. For example:  dress down your sequin top under an oversized vest, cardigan or a blazer. At night though, you can let it all sparkle!

Do you like embellished clothing and accessories? Have you tried any DIY?

I’d love to buy Robins’ jeans to my girlfriend in case she’ll lose a few pounds! Altogether – fantastic stuff, but so expensive!

    Hey Mimi!

Another relevant piece! Personally I’m quite fond of embellishments, they seem to give an extra sparkle (pun intended) to outfits. Undrabs them as it were :P As for DIY’s lol the only one I’ve done myself is adding studs to my beanie. What can I say? My scope for DIYing is very very limited. It took me all of a min to do and even I thought it was just too much haha.

Perhaps its just the idea of following the trends that made the job so unappealing but GEEEEEE it looked so so pretty afterwards :D *cheesy grin* haha
