Born in Canada, Made in Italy

I’m sure many of you are familiar with world famous fashion label Dsquared2. But did you also know that the talented fashion designers Dan and Dean are from Canada?  In 1991, the brothers moved to Milan with a dream of starting their own fashion label. They were faced with rejection and hardships in the beginning; nevertheless the brothers never gave up the dream.  Little by little, they established connections in the fashion industry and acquired some valuable experience needed to succeed as designers. By 1994, Dsquared2 finally debuted their much anticipated Men’s Collection and in 2003, women’s collection was launched.

Today, they are world known fashion designers whose clothes are worn by the rich and famous, such as Madonna, Rihanna, Eve, and Anne Hathaway. Their stores are scattered in all the hot fashion spots of the world.

The Spring Collection is both sexy and fun, inspired by the 70’s. I fell in love with all the denim pieces, the metallic jacket that has parts of silver, gold and bronze and the fitted jackets.

Here is the Dsquared2 Spring/Summer 2009 fashion show. Enjoy the show and don’t forget to leave a comment with your opinion.

Oh Mimi, I’m so glad you’ve featured these guys! They are one of my favourites, for sure! Such talented, fun spirited and down to earth people! And of course, can’t forget their clothes – they’re absolutely fabulous! And I love their Spring/Summer collection! I would wear each and every piece for sure…It’s also great to know they’re from Canada, making us all proud… =)

Their Men’s collection is my favourite. A fine tailored cut, just the way I like it. The Women’s line has a very luxurious look to it… very sexy.

Just saw the fall 2008 show aired on fashion television. LOVED the women’s collection… and even the bay city roller touches. (-:

Where can I get the green or camel ensembles, and how much would it cost me? I really enjoy the vintage feel.
