Boyfriend Pants- Yay or Nay?

Boyfriend Pants- Yay or Nay?

Who would have thought that the most unflattering pants are going to be in vogue? Love it or loathe it, but androgynous dressing is not going out of style anytime soon.  First it was the boyfriend jeans and now we are stealing men’s trousers.  What’s next? Really?

Grandpa looking trousers seem to be everywhere this fall, from the hottest editorials to runways of designers such as Chloe to the legs of fashion forward models and celebrities. What do these trousers look like? Well…imagine if you were to wear your boyfriend’s, father’s or even grandpa’s trousers. That’s right- they are meant to give you a relaxed feel and fit. Key things to look for is oversized, masculine and oh, don’t forget to roll up the bottom, much like the boyfriend jeans.

This is one trend, I’m most likely going to ignore. Well, at least the super oversized versions that Hannah MacGibbon’s designer for Chloe . Quite honestly, I would love to be able to pull it off, but I think unless you are tall with long legs, you are going to look ridiculous in these pants.

What do you guys think? Are they hot or totally not?

Oh my Goodness… I agree with you, it looks great on tall girls, but I think if I ever put something like that on, I would totally look like a clown! lol… But you never know, perhaps a more fitted version might work better…

Totally agree- I think they’d look great on tall women, but I couldn’t pull them off UNLESS I wore my high heels.

I say yes for other people. Not for my 5 foot self. I don’t mind the jeans, but the pants..might take me some time.

I could see them with a sexy top and heels, not so much otherwise.

i like it but i can’t see it on me. i have some versace pants that i found in a thrift store… but they’re really not flattering on me. i might need to crop them or something.

i love wearing clothes with a mix of masculine and feminine though!!!!!!!

Maybe if you are very tall it could look great but those pants are not flattering on me!!! I could see them with a silk top and heels though!

I think they’ll work for me if mixed with something really femenine, like high heels, red lipstick and stuff like that. They’re cool though!

  • liv said:

the look is so chic but i don’t think i can pull it off being only 5′. i’ll look like a dwarf clown!

  • Noelle said:

I definitely think that long and lean girls are the only 9unfortunate) people that can successfully pull these off. for shorties like me this is a definite NO! so until these start becoming more fitting I’d say stay far from them
