Acid Wash Jeans Trend

Yes, 80’s are officially back. Along with boyfriend jeans, one of the most popular jean trends for spring/summer 2009 that I’m predicting will be hitting the stores and thus our closets soon. You’ve guessed it- Acid wash jeans! I’ve been noticing them a lot lately, gracing the legs of runway models and various celebrities but for a long time I kept ignoring that fact. I just couldn’t believe they would ever make a such a dramatic comeback.

I remember wearing acid wash jeans in late 80’s, early 90’s , but I was a kid back then, and didn’t have much say in what to buy or wear. Looking back at the pictures, I always thought they were utterly hideous!

To be honest though, after checking out some modern versions of acid wash jeans, (especially Balmain Spring 2009) I’m definitely considering purchasing a pair or two. I happen to be keen on that 80’s hipster look, minus the big hair, of course! If we look at the trends in the past few years, then we could have seen it coming… It all started with colored jeans, leggings, neons, skinny jeans and now, the acid wash jeans… What’s next?

I am loving this trend as with most hideous 80′s fads its all about how,when and what doses. In the 80′s the problem was there was too many strong fads thrown together is scary measure.The actual trends when worn simply and on their own made for dramatic lines. I like acid/bleached jeans and like the possibilies they present.My fave on catwalk were Balmain’s without a hesitation.I’d rock them with a a simple t-shirt.I’d let the jeans do the talking.

Hi Sharon Rose- Yes, I hope they will be inexpensive choices in retail stores similar to Balmain. So far I’ve found some acid wash jeans at Urban Outfitters.

Hello Andre!- Yes, Acid wash jeans are in for guys as well! Isnt that exciting? You can check out Urban outfitters, as so far that’s the only store that has some acid wash jeans. I”m sure closer to spring we will have a lot more options.

Petite women can definitely pull off the look, as long as everything is in proportion. So pair it with some stilletos, a plain shirt and a blazer and it will look amazing

Oh my…When you told me it was back I didn’t quite believe it until I see it now with my own two eyes! hehe…I don’t know still how I feel about this…since my only association with Acid wash jeans is being little and being dressed by my mom into these most uncomfortable overalls!!
