Examples of Different Body Shapes

In my previous post on how to dress your body type, I showed ways on how to do just that – dress a certain body type. One reader, Trish had this comment regarding the pictures being used as examples -

“Good ideas, but it would be nice to see a model that actually had my body type! (I wear a 12, like a lot of the women that I know) It is kind of hard to picture what you would look like in these clothes when all the women are a size 2 “

Trish definitely made a good point, as it is really difficult to find pictures, even online, with body shapes of real women. I found a few excellent examples of body shapes of real women and posted them below.

Here are examples of real people body types:

X- Hour Glass

X - Hour Glass
X – Hour Glass

H- Cornett

O- Apple

V- Goblet

A-    Pear

Standard – Skittle

Well…we have to be realistic. Most people do not have perfect bodies, however we can dress up in a way that will flatter our shape and accentuate our best features.

OMG!!! I’ve been looking for a site that would give me a “normal model” I may identify my body type with!!! I’ve read so many articles but was never sure what my body type really was until now. I saw that first pict and thought, That’s ME! Im an X! Go Figure! Maybe now I can dress better for my body type…This is a great site! Thanks Mimi
