Star Style On Trial- Lady Gaga
It’s rare that a celebrity has a very distinctive style, because most famous people tend to play it safe by hiring fashion stylists to dress them, in order to avoid unnecessary talk about their wardrobe mishaps. However the lady whose style we are discussing today is the opposite of that. The lady in question is Lady Gaga- a true unconventional red carpet sensation, a singer and song writer and just a very interesting persona. Lady Gaga has managed to single-handedly turn the best and worst – dressed lists upside down and inside out. Lady Gaga dresses equally extravagantly whether she’s on stage or out among the paparazzi. So far her astonishing wardrobe has included bubble dress, a bra made of disco balls and wigs in every imaginable color. When asked about her unconventional style by Flare magazine Lady says that: “The last thing a young girl or a young boy needs is an image that says, “I wish I had that” or “she makes me feel bad about myself”. I’m not a model and my job is not to be beautiful. We all need an image that screams ‘I’m an individual’.
It takes a lot of courage to be yourself in a world full of pretense, where most of us have learned to play roles and dress accordingly to be accepted in our society, so I applaud Lady Gaga for having the guts to be different, knowing well enough that she will be judged for it. I believe, she is also an inspiration for many of us to challenge the norms of predictable style and widen our styling horizons, even if it might get a little extra attention.

She really does have an out there style and representation of herself. I guess its good as there are so many celebs out there that are cookie cut versions of each other. I ve noticed that whenever we do smth that is completely different and never been done b4 we are automatically being labelled and judged. oh heck, we r judged even when we r not being different hahah… there is always some1 that would talk behind ur back whether its good or bad LOL
OMG! honestly, I think she’s really brave but maybe too brave.. There’s no outfit which is wearable in real life, that’s any good!
I think it’s cool that someone dares to be so conceptual and out there. Sometimes she bothers me but I like the courage!
I loved this post, Mimi! I agree with you 100%… It is really so refreshing to see someone who doesn’t just look like the next person. I applaud her sense of adventure, bravery and for wanting to stand out from the sea of “sameness”. She is who she is today thanks to her outrages style & personality, and for that I admire her. =)

This is a great post, so many people dis Gaga’s choice in clothing when really, she should be applauded for her guts. She wears what she wants and what she doesn’t lol i mean she hates pants so she just doesn’t wear ‘em! Love her and I’m always excited to see what she wears next!

Lady Gaga is one of the most inspirational people when it comes to taking crazy fashion risks and not caring about what anybody else thinks. She always keeps it interesting and I really get excited to see what she will wear to the next award show. Great post about such a courageous woman!

I agree that it’s fantastic to step out ofthe norm and wear pieces that show your personality, but theres somethings that shouldn’t even be called clothing! So yes be an individual but try not wear things that are over the top in a bad way i.e. the bubble dress!
i just found out that Lady Gaga is also a mezzo soprano. she really has a great voice and i love her style. `
