Model Spotlight – Karlie Kloss
I have been noticing this gorgeous model virtually on every runway and on pages of my favorite editorial magazines. I wasn’t sure who this young model was or where she came from but what I knew for sure was that I was staring at a rising star!
Although Karlie Kloss might only be 16 years old, she’s already walked the runways for some of the most influential and brilliant fashion designers out there both in Europe and the US. She has also been featured in numerous of fashion magazines including Italian Vogue and American Teen Vogue.
Karlie was born in Chicago, however later her family moved to St. Louis, Missouri and that’s where she was discovered at a Charity Runway Show. Prior to modeling Karlie studied ballet, which some say is the backbone of her popular graceful walk on the runway.
I hope one day to get a chance to style her myself. She’s such an amazing model.

I love how you feature models, Mimi! I think that is such a wonderful idea, since most of the time we don’t give them much credit, and it is quite a difficult career & lifestyle to have, despite the glamorous reputation that modeling has. This young Model looks amazing! Such a natural talent – she will certainly go far in this business, I hope! =) I can’t believe she’s only 16, and how she’s able to transform with each look! Awesome!

OMG she is only 16??? She’s younger than me!!! OMG! She does look like a kid in some of the photos too, especially in the one with the white sunglasses and the one in the top right corner. I think she looks cute in the picture where her mouth is open, but there she doesn’t look much like in the other pictures, in the editorials she looks almost alien. She is really versatile, I’d say and that’s a good thing for a model. It would be so cool if you could style her someday! Can you make requests on who you want to style?
I have always admired ballet, but I doubt I could do it myself… My gymnastics coach studied ballet too, and you can see that he incorporates elements of the ballet into our gymnastics training.
Oh, and thanks for being interested in what we saw in the theatre.. We saw an ancient Greek tragedy, Oedipus by Sophokles. Have you heard of it? It was funny, I recognized one of the actors. We had already seen him in another play with the German class.
