I love wearing denim, and since summer is too hot of a season to wear jeans, fall is when I usually update the look of my jeans by either getting a new pair or two, or DIYing some old pairs of mine.

This upcoming fall distressed denim is going to be super hot. Whether shredded, faded or patched, so get your hands on some scissors and bleach or just go shopping.  Whatever rocks your boat.

I already have quite a few pairs of distressed denim in my wardrobe, so I think I’m all set!

Another way to join in on this sailor trend is by adding some rope details- such as a rope belt, necklace, bag, etc.  I wouldn’t recommend spending tons of money on a passing trend like that, so just grab some inexpensive accessory at Forever21 or H&M.  I got my rope necklace from H&M for something like $16! I can’t say I liked it more than the first movie though. I think it was equally good and funny. Most of the fashion on the other hand was quite extravagant and costumy , but that’s not too surprising with Patricia Field’s styling the movie.

One of my favourite fashion trends in this movie (except for harem pants of course, lol I’m not kidding! They are starting to grow on me ) are the maxi dresses. Did you ladies notice how many different maxi dresses Carrie wore throughout the movie? It’s unbelievable! So, for all of you gals out there that think that maxis are only for tall women , think again.  Here is a proof that even 5’4 Sarah Jessica Parker can pull off a maxi dress when don the right way and look fantastic.

I also love maxi dresses for the summer, because they are so very airy and comfortable… The only issue with maxi dresses is that once you wear a statement piece like that, people will always remember it. So, the key would be to dress it up differently each time you wear it. Create a bohemian look by wearing it with  flats and floppy hat,big hoop earrings; next time for a dinner event , glam it up with layers of gold necklaces , fancy hair updo and  chandelier earrings. For this look you might want to wear wedges or heels.

The shades below are my all time favourites that I believe every woman needs to have in her sunglasses collection. Once you have these basics, you can grow your collection by getting trendy and funky ones. But these are the four classics- the sunglasses that you can rely on from season to season.

Aviator They are plenty of designers and mass retail stores that offer aviator style sunglasses- from H&M to Marc Jocobs and Lanvin, but my favourite one remains to be the RayBan version.

Wayfarer Want to channel Audrey Hepburn? Just put your wayfarers on and you instantly give off a Parisian vibe.  They come in a variety of colors, so there is a color to suit any personality.

Cat Eye Mysterious, feminine and oh so 50’s! The cat eye frame is timeless style that appeals to all types of girls.

Oversized Every girl needs a pair of oversized glasses to hide from the paparazzi.

What are your favourite shades?

I absolutely love my classic pair of low top Chuck Taylors in navy. They look great with jeans and a blazer, shorts and a basic t-shirt, cute ruffle dress or chinos and a sexy tank.

What are you thoughts on Converse?  Do you own a pair yet?

I have to admit I generally stay away from floral or abstract prints , because I don’t feel like myself in them, but I still decided to give this Marciano skirt a try, and I don’t regret it. It definitely works , as long as it’s paired with a solid color on top.
