I have some beauty news for you!

Me and my sister Leyla have been obsessed about hair ever since I can remember us. We believe in beautiful hair and are curious and experimental when it comes to it. Therefore we have decided to start  a YouTube Channel- Luxy Hair, where we will be sharing hair tips, hair tutorials, product reviews and much more!

Below are some of the summer tricks I use:

1. Watch that yellow nail polish

The sheer pastel, beige and pink nail polish turns into yellowish tint after being exposed to sun for a couple of days. To avoid this, use a clear nail gloss with inbuilt UV protection topcoat and do not forget to rub a bit of sunscreen on nails when applying it to the rest of your body.

2.   Change your moisturizer

Our skin needs less moisture in hot weather due to increased humidity in the air.  Therefore it’s recommended to switch to a lighter moisturizer to keep your pores clear. This will insure you will be less likely to experience blemishes in the warm seasons.

3. Bronzer is a girl’s best friends

As most of you ladies already know, unfortunately our faces do not tan as well and easily as the rest of our body. So a good bronzer is a must in your make up bag. It adds that needed color to otherwise pale face. A bronzer can be used in a variety of ways — any time of the year really! Apply it to your face to play up a tan, or just to fake one. Strategically place it along the sides of your cheekbones to slim your face.

I usually also apply some on my shoulders for a shimmer effect when wearing a strapless top or dress. My favourite bronzer at the moment is Mac bronzing powder in color- Bronze. I love it, because It’s very subtle and natural looking.

4. Protect Thy hair

Like to be in the water? So do I! There is nothing wrong with it…well, maybe except for the fact I that chlorine and salt water have an adverse affect on the condition of your hair and hair color. I recommend rinsing your hair both before and after swimming and your hair is less likely to soak up chemicals that will cause damage.

5. Kissable Lips

Only soft and smooth lips are inviting to kiss. I personally tend to get dry lips in winter and summer, so one way I’ve learnt to deal with it is by regularly treating them to lip balms and vitamin e, which keeps them from chapping and cracking.  When it comes to the color of lipsticks for summer- dark and opaque look too severe in bright sun. Replace them with spf-packed sheer shades and glosses.

The side braid is perfect for those bad hair days and only takes a couple of minutes to do. It’s an opportunity to skip on the basic and boring ponytail.

If you are still confused then it might make sense to spend some time with the women at the cosmetics counter and have it figured out once and for all. But it doesn’t end here, once you know your perfect shade, you still have to learn the mastery of applying red lipstick, because it’s not the type of lipstick you can throw on in the dark club or in the back of a taxi. Just follow this simple steps below and you’ll be just fine!

How to Wear Red Lipstick

-          Apply a lip moisturizer first and then a thin layer of foundation.

-          After the foundation dries, add a layer of face powder, which will help set the lipstick so that it will last longer.

-          Next, line the lips with a pencil that matches your lipstick. Keep within the natural line of your lip.

-          Apply a thin, even coat of the lipstick.

-          Blot. Always remember to blot!

-          Apply a second coat and you are ready to go.
