Tips for Thick and Long Eyelashes
When I was little I was very envious of my sister’s eyelashes. Although we are from the same family, we have very different face features and my eyelashes are nothing like hers. Mine are short, straight and brittle in comparison to her extremely long and curly ones. Well… thankfully as I was growing up I have discovered many ways in which I could enhance the look of my eyelashes quite easily and pain free, so eventually I’ve come to love my “not so perfect eyelashes”. Today I would like to share some of my experiences and expertise with you on how to pamper your lashes, making them long and magnificent as if you were born with it.
[SinglePic not found]- The easiest and fastest way to transform the look of your eyelashes is obviously by using mascara. There are way too many on the market right now, and only a few are actually worth buying. I can guarantee you that I have tried it all from the cheapest brands such as Maybelline, Revlon to the most expensive like Chanel and Dior. Some are okay, when others are plain terrible. My favorite mascara picks are:1. L’Oreal Volume Shocking Double Sided Mascara. – It sells for about $12.00 and is one of the best that you can purchase at a drug store. It is great for creating volume, because of the brushes and a primer coat that you apply prior to the mascara. It perfectly separates lashes without clumping. If you have short eyelashes that need volume, and don’t have a big budget , then this mascara is for you.

2. L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara- It sells for about $10 at any drug store. This mascara does an amazing job at lengthening lashes (not so much volume though). It has a high precision flexible brush that makes it so easy to apply the mascara evenly. If you prefer your lashes looking natural then this mascara is for you. It will give you longer and more defined lashes in a single sweep.

3. Lancôme Fatale- Can be purchased at Bay, Sears, Holt Renfrew or any other major beauty retailers for about $30. I know it’s quite pricey but it does the job! Gives you exceptional volume and a fatal glamorous look. The 3-D comb applicator and its coating formula give you an instant oomph effect! A lot of times when I wear it people ask me if I’m wearing fake lashes. To me it’s the best compliment, so I love to wear this mascara for a night look.

It really is the best mascara I’ve ever used and I’m so happy I’ve found it. Its best feature is the new applicator smooth glide brush that coats each lash without clumping. It does an amazing job at lengthening, perfectly separating and ultra defining eyelashes. It’s extremely easy to use and doesn’t create any mess. It’s definitely rated #1 in my books!

General Tips
- Note: Try skipping mascara at least once or twice a week, to give your lashes a break and time to re-grow all the hairs that are lost when you apply or remove your make up.
- I don’t recommend wearing false eyelashes because no matter how careful you are, the removal of them will cause you to lose a significant amount of your lashes. It’s just not worth it.
- Another great way to thicken your eyelashes is to apply Castor Oil (which you can get at any drug store) or virgin Olive oil every night before you go to sleep. Use a clean applicator brush or a q-tip and dab it into the oil and then apply it to the roots of your eyelashes on your upper and lower lids. This method has been used for centuries and is known to work miracles.

Great tips! i’m sure to try that new Lancome mascara! Thanks Mimi!
Nice! I’ve been using Lancome Hypnosis for couple years now it’s 30$ and can be found in Bay. I love long eyelashes
ok at the moment im slapping the younger me for trimming my eyelashes! yes girl i used to cut them shorter,my older wiser self is screaming”WHY MARIAN? WHY DID YOU DO IT?!!!” lol
)
they were so long and would then eventually fall very painfully into my eyes and be stuck sometimes for days. now my lashes are still ok but nothing like their former self so i wear mascara to enhance.the irony huh.i shake my fist at those micro scissors!
Muah!
Marian
Hey Marian! I remember reading on some beauty blog that trimming eyelashes actually promotes their growth, but I was very skeptical about it, so I didn’t attemt to try. THANK GOD! Did you also do that because you thought they would grow longer and healthier, or because you thought they were too long?
does olive oil really help or promote long lashes and if it does, does it get into your eyes and irritate you or hurt?
Hello Sexylashgurl! Thank you for the question. To be honest, I prefer Castor Oil to Olive oil , as it seems to be more effective on me. However, Olive oil works just as good on others, so I’d definitely give it a shot. The key is to apply it properly and carefully with a q-tip on upper and lower lashes. Leave it on for the night and then wash it off with warm water in the morning. As long as you apply it properly , only on the lashes, it shouldn’t get into your eyes or hurt. Good luck and let me know how it works for you!
I think asians are lucky for their luscious and thick lashes.
Shiseido Advanced Volume mascara is my eyelash god!
) L’Oreal and all other drugstore brands ALWAYS smudge and make me look like a drunk panda bear, but Shiseido is just great. My mom uses it too & is very happy with it!
And this Olive Oil tip…I will give it a try! I’m a 1/4 Korean and I have straight Asian eyelashes that need some pampering…
ive heard of all these oils while research and know where to get them its just, im only 12(not allowed makeup) and want my eyelashes to be long. so instead of the oils ive been applying the same way excspt with vaseline. does vaseline work? ive only used it 2 days it look a tinnny tinnny bit longer. is there anything else i can do?
