Tips for Shiny Hair
Who doesn’t want to have shiny hair? Having your hair as shiny and soft as in Pantene Pro-V commercials. He-he…Well, maybe not that shiny and artificial, but if you use the following tips I guarantee you will add some shine and life back to your hair.
The longer your hair, the more care it requires in order for it to look healthy and strong. For the last few years, I have been trying to grow my hair and let me tell you it is not an easy task. Mostly due to my addiction to styling tools such as flat irons, ceramic curlers, blow dryers and etc. Well, a girl is gotta make herself look pretty? Right? In order to keep it growing and looking pretty, I make sure to follow these easy hair tricks:
• Use a conditioner every time you wash your hair. Don’t rub it into your scalp, that won’t do any good. Just work it through your hair and let it sit for a few minutes.
• Ideally you need to get a trim every 6 weeks. (I personally make sure to get a trim at least once every two months) If you hair is full of split ends, then it is not going to reflect the light well and your hair will end up looking dull.
• After shampooing and conditioning your hair and before jumping out of the shower, rinse your hair under cold water. It’s not pleasant, but it’s worth doing. I got into a habit of doing it every time I wash my hair and it makes quite a difference. Rinsing with cold water will close and smoothen the cuticle leaving a smooth, shiny surface.
• Deep condition your hair once a week. I used many different brands anything from Alberto, which is pretty inexpensive to Aveda, which is very expensive. The difference is not that significant, so just use your discretion, but those two are my favorites so far.
• Vitamin E is essential for healthy hair. I would recommend taking daily tablets of vitamin E or you can include products that contain vitamin E in your diet such as nuts, brown rice and leafy green vegetables.
• Once you are done blow drying your hair, blast your hair with cold air to set the style and smoothen cuticles.
• Get an ionic dryer. Finally after hearing about it for so long, I invested in one a couple of months ago (yes, they are pricey) but my oh my, WHAT a difference! Blow drying my hair has never been so easy. Apparently, Ionic tools improve the health of your hair if used consistently.

Short hair suits you and as we all know it doesn’t work for most people! It’s perfect for your style if anything it makes your style even more daring, intriguing…:) Mauh!
Hi Amanda!- You should hun. Changing a bit of your hair washing routine will make a big difference overall.
Hey Mimi, as usual great tips! I notice you always manage to suggest things that anybody and everybody can do or purchase…Unlike many other sources of advice out there! Well done my dear! xoxo
I remember when I was little my mom always used to tell me to do the cold water trick and then as I got older I kinda forgot about it. So thank for reminding and all the rest of the advice is so easy to use that I’ll definitely try them and let you know of the results! ciao bella
