The Side Braid
Braids are always in, but the type of braid that is in fashion changes from season to season. Last year we saw a huge popularity of milkmaid braid, this year the focus is on the big, bold and beautiful side braid. Ever since Alexander Wang featured them in his Spring 10 collection- side braids have been seen in plenty of fashion editorials, sported by celebrities and every fashion forward blogger. The good thing about it, is that it is very easy to achieve. If you have layered hair you will need a few pins to keep some of the loose strands of hair in place and a bit of hair spray. You might also want to add a few pieces of clip in hair extensions for extra volume that this braid requires. The key is to make it look a bit messy, so don’t worry if you have a few strands falling out of the braid.
The side braid is perfect for those bad hair days and only takes a couple of minutes to do. It’s an opportunity to skip on the basic and boring ponytail.
Have you tried wearing your hair in a side braid yet?

Oh I love the side braid, I’ve been wearing it quite often lately:)
xx
Love it on Nicole Richie!
I’ve actually tried this myself a while ago and it’s really easy and cute : )
i love those braids. but you need a lot of hair to make this look a hit, don’t you?
can’t wait until my hair is long enough!!
I love a side braid… I have been watering my hair diligently and still it doesn’t grow fast enough to make a good side braid… I will rock the look in 2015 when my hair is long enough.
I tryied it myself it’s aesy to do and lovely!
I tried it myself it’s easy to do and lovely!
I’m waiting for my hair to grow out a little before I try this look. The problem with my hair is it’s quite slippery. I have to start out with a very neat braid. Within an hour it’ll unravel and start looking messy.
I love Nicole’s braid! I need to try this version because when I do the low side braid, mine is more pulled back- but I should try some waves and intentional loose pieces- I think I’ll try this tomorrow! xo, Mel
I love the side braid! I was actually wearing it today.. and I agree, it’s so easy & perfect for those “bad hair days”… You look so lovely with the braid too.. And yes, I think you absolutely need to put in some clip-in hair extensions to achieve a perfectly thick braid! =)
I love a side braid.
Wow! Looks lovely. I’ll share it to my sister. So she will have another hair style tip from you. =D

Man, I am so ahead of my time — I wore my hair like this half of last year. Heh. Too bad my hair is mega thin and looks way less luscious than all of those ladies above ; )
But now my hair is too short for such a thing, anyway! Such is life.
love the side braid right now its just so easy xxxxxxx
I need longer hair!!!! I love it!
xoxoxo

Love it!! I have super thin short hair (that refuses! To grow) so it’s hard to achieve
