Gold Shadow Beauty Trend

Gold Shadow Beauty Trend

My latest make up obsession and weakness is gold eye shadow.  For those of you that LOVE make up as much as I do and are eager to experiment with different hues and shades, this year gold eye shadow is going to become an absolute must have in your beauty bag . Not only has gold been featured on many runways for Spring/Summer 2009, but it is also a classic, vital component of your make up kit. Having metallic eye shadow colors helps you add a bit of drama to your regular make up as well as maintain versatility in your make up looks.  The beauty of gold is that it goes perfectly on its own, or when mixed and blended with other colors such as brown, purple, turquoise, blue, red and etc.

Use gold to bring out color and warmth in your face. Just remember when choosing the right shade of gold it is important to keep in mind your skin tone.  If your face looks yellow next to the white towel you have a warm skin tone and if it looks bluer then you have a cool skin tone. Also, pay attention whether you look good in gold or silver jewellery.  People with warm skin tone look better in gold and people with cold skin tone in silver or white gold.

So, now that you have determined your skin tone remember to use coppery gold tones for warm skin tone and opt for a more white gold colour if you have cool skin tone.

What’s your take on the metallic shades? Care to share your latest beauty obsession?

What great advice about the skin tones! It’s just the with red lipstick…you just have to pick the right tone of it…Otherwise, it’ll look out of place..Hey, there is an idea for a future post! I’d love to get your advice on that! BTW, great photos as examples…beautiful! xoxo

As you know, I love experimenting with makeup… And I have a gold eye shadow too! I wore it for Christmas! Unfortunately now I can’t wear any eye make up as I have an eye infection… I love metallic shadows! And my latest beauty obsession are definitely 60s-style eyeliner and lashes… I always love exaggerated eyes.
And yeah. Falling in love is always wonderful, even if it’s someone you shouldn’t fall in love with. But what if that someone is the right person?
And yeah, I’m still on my break for school. But it’s starting on Wednesday, and I’m really excited to see all my friends again and so on!
    Are you still at school?
    xoxo,
    Cate

It’s weird, when I was in 8th grade (11 years ago, eep!) a relative I didn’t particularly like gave me a stick of creme gold eyeliner. I scoffed at first because of who gave it to me, but when I got home & tried it out, it immediately became my staple, & I’ve used it consistently (in small amounts for weekdays of course!) since. No matter what color eyes you have, they’re enhanced five-fold. It’s magic, I’m convinced. The one I use now is a $0.99 creme stick from CVS, very saturated. Gold fangirl, everyone try it!
