Fall Nail Polish Trends 2009

Curious to know what’s in store for the nails this fall? I am!

Well…generally fall brings out the darker shades and hues, so most designers opt for murky autumn colors such as purple, gray, black and brown. Optimism rocked the runways at the fall 2009 shows. Plush knits and vibrant furs put together with lazy grays and shocking brights offered a feeling of exuberance and buoyancy. Most nail polish collections such as Essie, OPI are inspired by the runways of New York, Paris, London and Milan, so even if you can’t afford to buy designer clothes you can channel the season’s hottest colors through well –manicured hands with rich, deep colors.

Rich hues are definitely fall-appropriate. Another huge nail polish trend that seems to be taking off is matte nail polish. OPI is coming out with matte versions of their bestselling polishes, I think.
