Colorful Eyeliners – Spring Beauty Trend

Make up is so much fun, especially in the Spring and Summer since we get to play with even more exciting and bold hues.  I personally always love to try and create new makeup looks on myself.  For a very simple reason that it gives me lots of joy to be artistic with makeup, as well as see how far I can stretch my creativity.

Colorful eye makeup is one of the ways you can express your personality this Spring. The look is very easily created either by using colorful creamy eye pencil or liquid eye liner. Don’t have either of those? No problem. One of my personal tricks is to use vibrant eye shadows instead.  Just wet a q-tip and dab it in the shadow and then apply that as a liner.
All you have to do is draw a line along your upper eyelid, like you would with black eyeliner. Finish off by smudging the edges a bit.
For a night look, you can smudge the color all over the lid for a more dramatic effect and finish off by adding a few coats of mascara.  One important tip is to keep the rest of the makeup simple and natural, in order to avoid color clashing.
Best colors to go for are shimmery blues, greens and purples.

Do you wear colorful eyeliner and if yes, then what is your favorite color?

What a great idea to use a wet q-tip as a substitute to a pencil! I’ll definitely have to try that one out myself… Now that I’ve read this inspiring post, I am itching to go shopping for some new & vibrant make up for Spring/Summer! Thanks Mim!

Ooh yes! In fact, when I went clubbing on Friday night, I used an angled liner brush and bright blue eyeshadow to draw a defined cat’s eye line along the upper lashline. I felt so sassy. :D

I used to wear blue mascara in middle school, hehehe. I still love a good colored eye liner– good trick with the q-tip! I just use the edge of the shadow brush but I bet a q-tip is way more controllable. I like to do a little dark blue sometimes (I heard it was good for brown eyes). But I would really love to have someone professional do my makeup just one time someday! Honestly, for someone who loves clothes and fashion, I am actually kind of helpless when it comes to makeup! My dream would be to have some kind of makeup expert analyze my features or whatever they do and then tell me what to do. If you know a lot about makeup, I would love to read more of your makeup hints and tricks!

I loveee bright colors on others, but I can’t seem to wear them on myself! I prefer blacks, and maybe an occasional pop of a brighter purple =]
