Party Makeup Tips
Holiday season is filled up with joyful events such as parties, office dinners, happy hours with your co-workers, family gatherings and of course the New Year’s Eve. I don’t know about you ladies, but I love to party and go out any chance I get. I love wearing makeup because it gives me confidence and makes me feel extra special. I also enjoy the whole process of picking the right make up for a certain outfit and then applying it. But believe me; it hasn’t always been like this. Growing up I used to be the biggest tomboy and have only discovered the world of cosmetics when I was about 18.
Our skin is a reflection of what we eat and winter holidays are a definite evidence to that. Most of us tend to eat all the naughty foods and pretend that calories don’t count just because it’s the holidays. He-he, I know, I know, I’ve been there myself every single year. So, I’ve come up with some make up tips that are easy to follow and will insure your skin and make up are looking gorgeous!
Here are 6 tips on party makeup:
1. Drink lots of water. Yes, I’m sure you’ve heard that one before, but be honest with yourself, do you actually drink 8-10 glasses of water a day? ( coffee, tea and juices, don’t count) If you don’t, then you should start today. It will benefit your overall health as well as the appearance of your skin. We tend to take in enormous amounts of sugar, salt and other harmful substances during holiday season. Water will help you flash out all the sugars and other excess chemicals before it shows on your face.
2. Whatever the event might be when you decide on your outfit, automatically start thinking of what make up will look good with it and whether you have the necessary tools, applicators and shades. I usually match my make up to the outfit but you don’t have to do that, some colors work wonderfully together. For example: Smoky eye makeup looks great for an evening look and works well with all colors.
3. Vintage make up will look great if you are wearing black or navy. After thorough cleans
ing, toning and moisturizing of your face, apply foundation. Then apply a few coats of black mascara and red lipstick. Add just a bit of pink blush to your chick bones to make it look natural. Many women believe that red lipstick doesn’t look good on them, but I beg to differ. If you pick the right shade of red lipstick for your skin tone it will look stunning! Don’t be shy and ask help from one of the cosmetic assistants at the nearest drugstore or department store. I’m sure they would be happy to help and you will be delighted to discover your new best makeup secret.
4. Great outfit, hair and makeup can be ruined if you have ungroomed nail polish. Ensure your nails are well manicured and well kept. If eye catching colors are not your thing, opt for French manicure or a couple of clear coats.
5. Sometimes I go for one or two tanning sessions prior to the holidays to give my skin a nice, natural glow. (My skin is depressingly pale in the winter) However, if you are against tanning then you might go for Gold dust which is also a great, harmless and inexpensive way of achieving a sun goddess look. It’s available at any cosmetic counter or and will last you a
lifetime.
6. Choose a nice perfume and do not eat garlic as it will affect the scent of your fragrance. My favorite party fragrance is Chance Perfume by Chanel, because it drives my boyfriend crazy.

Really good tips! Especially the one not to eat garlic LOL
