Perhaps all you Need is a New Haircut

It’s hard to let go and say good bye. There comes a time in our lives when we know it’s time to start a new chapter: move to a new place, face new obstacles, start a new career, go back to school, build new castles, whatever… but we are too scared to close the old chapter, because closing it would mean letting go of the comfort zone, of all the familiar things that we are so used to and that is almost always challenging and unpredictable, so we keep postponing what needs to be done.

If you have been procrastinating on your path to a better, more successful life then perhaps all you need to do is , do something a little wild and random. For example: get a new haircut to make you feel brand new! I went to a hairdresser today, not knowing what I want to do with my hair. I’ve been growing my hair for the last two years and it was pretty long and I obviously got quite attached to it. However, when I visited my hairdresser today, I let go of all the control and told her to do whatever she thought was the best look for my hair. Brave, huh? Well… sometimes you just have to let go and simply trust people.

The result: I love my new haircut! It’s a lot shorter, layered and I have bangs now! I haven’t had bangs since elementary school, so that will take a bit getting used to, but other than that I’m feeling pretty Fab! Ha-ha… I don’t know why I’ve been putting off getting a new haircut for so long. I feel like a new person, full of strength and ready to make some big changes in my life! It’s exactly what I needed at the moment!

How are you? I’m pretty fine, thank you… Thank God it’s Friday…
But: WOW! That hair is amazing! I love fringes, and it looks so glossy and shiny… Really fabulous. I know what you mean about getting out of the comfort zone being hard etc. … I used to have waist-length hair, and then I suddenly got a pixie cut, and I told no one about it. The next day in school was MAYHEM.
I’ll say! It was very brave of you to just tell your hairdresser to do with your hair whatever she wants. I think it’s also a matter of having the right hairdresser, she has to know what you like too. My hairdresser (who I’m going to see today, incidentally) is a very nice and capable person, but she doesn’t have exactly the same taste as me…
Layers look really great on you. Currently I’m trying to grow out my layers.. But it takes patience. I already tried once and then I changed my mind and let my hairdresser cut the hair short again.. She must think I’m loony for always changing my mind..

Anyway, to stop all this babbling: You do look different, but you look so glamourous.

Hmm the last time I did something wild and out of the ordinary for me, I went to 3 cities in 3 weeks–London, Paris, and NYC. I was completely alone in London and I LOVED it. I think I fare just fine as a lonely traveller.
