While neutral flesh tones have been popular in footwear and makeup over the past several seasons, they are now making their way to apparel. I guess that means we will be getting quite nude this spring and summer! Anything from soft flesh-tone hues to earthy neutrals is going to be on the hot list for spring. So start looking for those in stores but also in your own wardrobe. Since nudes are considered neutral colors, they go well when combined with other colors in an outfit.
But how do we wear nude without looking naked? Well…first and foremost is to pay attention and pick the right nude fabrics, making sure they’re not too tight; body-hugging silhouettes that  look like another layer of skin, which isn’t flattering at all. They should instead drape and float away from the body, like the Donna Karan dress below. Because nude colors tend to wash out some skin tones, mix nudes with black and darker neutral tones like brown, navy and gray.
